Description

In 1991, the board of the Centre for Islamic Da'wah and Education (CIDE NSW) had an initiative to buy a building to serve as a mosque and become center of worships and community activities, that year it was purchased a former Jehovah Witness church for sale. The former church was eventually converted into a mosque. The part that used to be the altar of the church has been modified become committee office, while the pulpit and the place of prayer of the priest were placed in the middle of the west side because the building happened to be perpendicular to the qibla direction. This mosque was then named Masjid Al Hijrah.
