Description

Located just east of High Park in Toronto’s beautiful Roncesvalles Village, Jami Mosque is the oldest Canadian Islamic centre in the city and is often referred to as “the mother of all mosques in Toronto.” Originally built in 1910 as a Presbyterian church, the building was purchased in 1969 by Toronto’s small immigrant Muslim community and converted into the city’s first Islamic worship centre. Over the last few decades, Jami Mosque has become a beloved institution not only by its local and extremely diverse Muslim congregants but also the wider Toronto community at large.

Jami Mosque continues to support its local community as an inclusive, welcoming place for all to worship and by offering specialized Islamic services.
